Remote Learning Program for Prince William and Fauquier County Students

This year, the impending return to school has left many parents scrambling to balance full-time work commitments with their child’s remote school schedule. If you find yourself in this boat, you’ll be happy to know that we’ve created an ideal solution for the whole family. Haymarket Children’s Academy is thrilled to offer our Outpost Remote Learning Program (ORLP). We’ve created a safe, teacher-supported environment for students of all ages to complete their virtual school days, giving parents peace of mind as they return to work. Read on for all the details below.

What Is Our Outpost Remote Learning Program (ORLP)?

ORLP was born out of the need for working parents to have a safe place for their kids to learn. It’s geared toward students who will be attending either part-time or full-time remote schools during the fall semester. As an essential service, Haymarket Children’s Academy is allowed to remain open — giving us the opportunity to provide structure, support, and supervision for your children.

Our school-age program in the Outpost will combine safety with fun and keep a healthy focus on education. The program will be staffed by college-educated professionals with lead teacher qualifications, giving children constant access to any individualized assistance they need. ORLP is currently slated to run for the first quarter of the school year — September 8 through October 30. We will continue offering our services on a rolling basis as long as remote learning remains in effect.

Diving Into the Details of Our Remote Learning Program

Wondering what to expect for students in online schools? Our hours of operation will be between 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. throughout the week. This period includes time for free play in the morning and afternoon, along with scheduled learning time throughout the typical school day hours. Our lengthy program schedule allows parents to commute and work full-time without cutting their commitments short.

Each day, the children will experience the comfort of a consistent daily routine, including healthy breakfasts, lunches and snacks provided by our onsite chef. Our premium upgraded internet will allow all attendees to access their own devices simultaneously, streamlining their online classes and coursework.

To maintain social distancing, we plan to keep children in their primary care groups, organized by grade level, throughout the day. We will also monitor hand-washing to ensure frequency, facilitate temperature checks and maintain our regular, thorough cleanings. Our goal is for each child to have fun, learn with others and feel supported as they continue their online learning adventures.
